Posted on

Alexandria—The BA is hosting a Conference entitled “New Urban Communities Development: Issues and Priorities" from 28 to 30 March 2009.

After thirty years of the Egyptian experiences in new urban communities, the Conference aims to evaluate these experiences with their successes and failures, opportunities and threats, in order to capitalize the current and potential resources looking forward to a more promising future.

It is worth mentioning that the phenomena of new urban communities had been emphasized in the beginning of the twentieth century. Many countries had evolved this idea, which was foreseen as the proper solution for overcrowded urban agglomeration through establishing new urban communities that provide job opportunities, housing and services in a healthy environment.

The Conference will take place at the BACC Lectures Hall at 9:00 am.
