A Reading Marathon between Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Morocco

Posted on

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, is launching the third edition of its reading marathon – the largest of its kind in three Arab cities: Dhahran, Alexandria, and Rabat. The event is held over three days, from 29 February to 2 March 2024.

The marathon seeks to motivate the Arab community to read in public libraries, believing in the role of libraries in enriching the scientific and cultural life of societies, and the importance of reading as one of the most vital means of knowledge enrichment for future generations. In addition, the marathon aims to inspire one million readers by 2030.
