An exhibition for Moneer Kanaan at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA)

Alexandria—The BA Arts Center will organize a plastic art exhibition next March for late artist Moneer Kanaan. Maestro Sherif Mohie El-Din, Director of the BA Arts Center, stated that the exhibition will shed light on the different stages of Moneer Kanaan’s works. Moneer Kanaan is one of the pioneers of abstractionism and collage in Egypt.
Maestro Sherif Mohie El-Din stated that the BA is proud to host such an inspiring and important exhibition of an artist who challenged the conservatism in the contemporary artistic movement in the mid sixties. Maestro Sherif Mohie El-Din added that those interested in the history of the contemporary Egyptian art need thorough and extensive studies to understand the art of Moneer Kanaan and his impact on plastic art in Egypt.
