First Call of Papers

It is our pleasure to announce that The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Writing and Scripts Center is intending to organize "The Sixth International Forum of Writings and Inscriptions" entitled “Prehistory in the Arab World and Africa- Second Cycle”, which will be held on 2-5 March 2015.

Topics & Themes

The Sixth International Forum of "History of Writings, Calligraphies, and Inscriptions in the World throughout the Ages is traditionally open to all areas concerning specified topics, and its goal is to seek for research papers focusing on the following themes:

  1. Rock Art in the Arab world and Africa, highlighting its role in the origin of writing.
  2. Migration of the first humans out of Africa.
  3. Cultural Features of the Main prehistoric sites in the Arab and African countries.
  4. World prehistoric cultures (similarities and differences).
  5. Environmental Archeological Studies of the prehistoric sites in the Arab and African countries.
  6. Geo-Archeology and Anthropology studies in the prehistory.
  7. Dating techniques of the Prehistoric stone tools
  8. Restoration of prehistoric sites
  9. Megaliths in the Arab and African countries
  10. Museum collections and methods of preservation for prehistoric artefacts.

  • 01 May 2014: Second Call of paper
  • 4 December 2014: Submission deadline for Application with abstract
  • 30 December 2014: Announcement of the accepted participants
  • 15 January 2015: Deadline for participation confirmation and paying fees
  • 30 January 2015: Sending the primary program of the Forum
  • 20 February 2015: Sending the Final program of the Forum
  • 01 May 2015: Sending the full paper
