This summer the PSC is organizing a number of workshops that encourages children to explore their creativity and find out how to use it in their life; all the while enriching their knowledge. In our workshops, students are able to interact with each other and with the world around them in an exciting and entertaining manner; they are guaranteed to have a blast!

Animal
In this workshop, the students will explore the amazing world of animals. They will learn about where do the animals live, what do they eat, what are the different sounds of the animals, and what are they used for? The students will also learn about the importance of the animals in the food chain.

• Target age group: 4-6 years.

Play with shapes
The kids are surrounded with different shapes. In this workshop, kids will be able to describe objects in the environment using names of shapes. They will also describe the relative positions of these objects, analyze, compare, create shapes through hands-on activities and making models.

Universe in a Box
Universe in a Box is a big step to bringing astronomy for Kids. The box has been designed by the EU-UNAWE Germany team for educators to help explain concepts of astronomy through hands on activities and three-dimensional models.

• Target age group: 4-6 years.

Experiment with Water
Water is everywhere around us, we use it in our daily life; we drink water, we wash our hands with water, we water the plants, and many other things. In this workshop, the students will take a closer look at water, and they will do experiments using water in an atmosphere full of challenge and fun.

The Sun
Without Sun life on Earth would not exist. In this workshop, students will learn about the importance of the Sun in our life. It provides us with light, heat, and energy, which brings life on our planet. It defines the seasons, the harvests, and even the sleep patterns of all creatures.

• Target age group: 6-8 years.

Soap Bubbles 
A soap bubble is a thin film which is filled with air or gas. In this workshop, the students will enjoy preparing different types of soap bubbles with different sizes and observe how long they will last. The students will also learn about the properties of the soap bubbles and how they are formed.

• Target age group: 6-8 years.

Energy
In this workshop, the students will be introduced to the different forms of energy. Through interactive experiments, the students will learn how energy is transformed from one form to another, its properties and its applications in daily life.

• Target age group: 6-8, 9-12.

Memory Mnemonics
Sometimes you find it difficult to remember long lists of information, there is a learning technique used to improve memory called mnemonic systems which are used to make memorization easier. By using the different types of the mnemonic techniques in this workshop, the students will test their memory in remembering lists of words, countries, or capitals.

Clean Water
Water treatment is the processes used to make water more acceptable as drinking water, in industrial processes, and in medical uses among other uses. In this workshop, students learn the steps of water treatment through a variety of hands-on activities that tackle processes such as pre-chlorination and coagulation.

• Target age group: 9-12 years.

90 minutes inside the Earth
In this workshop, the students will enjoy a 90 minute journey inside the Earth, during which the students will learn about the Earth’s layers and the plate tectonics. They will also learn how do volcanoes and earthquakes occur through hands-on activities.

Communicate with Universe
Everyday, we communicate in many different ways. As much as there are different ways of communicating, there are also different kinds of communication tools. This workshop includes a series of activities concerning the different kinds of communication such as the Morse code, the semaphore and the telegraph.

HSM Contest Program
The History of Science Museum transcends the traditional museum concept of a static display. In its quest to simplify national and regional scientific heritage, it offers its visitors this energetic interactive contest that is based on games and quizzes about the information found within the Museum.

• Target age group: 9-12 years.

Atmosphere
The atmosphere of our Earth is made up of three primary gases; oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. In this workshop, the students will learn about the different layers of the atmosphere and how they are divided based on the characteristics of the gases. to the students.

• Target age group: 13-15.

Medicine in Ancient Egypt
There are many papyri containing medical prescriptions that witnesses on the firmness of medicine since the beginning of the dynastic period. In this workshop, the students will learn about the history of medicine especially in Ancient Egypt. They will be introduced to Imhotep, the first doctor in the Ancient Egyptian civilization.

Leadership
Leaders are made not born. Your ability to negotiate, communicate, influence and persuade others to do things is indispensable to everything you accomplish in life. In this workshop, students will learns how to be leaders and they will test their own leadership skills through story-telling and role playing.

Space Adventures
Who would not like to explore the outer space with all its mysteries? Through model-making, hands-on activities, slide shows and movies, this workshop takes students on retrieving journey to unravel the secrets of astrophysical phenomena, such as meteorites, constellations, cosmic collisions, orbital forces, and many more fascinating facts, trends and occurrences.

• Target age group: 13-15 years.

Clean up the World
Waste management is the collection, transport, processing or disposal, managing and monitoring of waste products. This workshop will help the students learn about the different methods of waste management, such as recycling, composting and landfills. through slideshows and movies, the students will also learn about the efforts exerted to reduce energy consumption.

Starting point
What is the periodic table? How are elements arranged? How are element groups defined? During this program, students learn the answers to these questions and more. They learn the history of the periodic table, play games, and conduct hands-on experiments; they also get to build their own periodic tables.
