From 2009 to 2011 the Office for Outer Space Affairs held a series of three United Nations/Austria/ESA Symposium on Small Satellite Programme for Sustainable Development. One objective of these Symposiums was to prepare and review the work programme of the Basis Space Technology Initiative. • United Nations/Austria/ESA Symposium on "Small Satellite Programmes for Sustainable Development: Implementing Small Satellite Programmes - Technical, Managerial, Regulatory and Legal Issues", Graz, Austria, 13-16 September 2011
In-follow up to the series of three UN/Austria/ESA Symposiums on Small Satellite Programmes for Sustainable Development, held in Graz, Austria, from 2009 to 2011, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs will organize International Symposiums on Basic Space Technology Development in the regions that correspond to the United Nations Economic Commissions for Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Western Asia, starting in 2012.

This year the PSC participated with an oral presentation for the prospects of capacity building in Space Technology Program in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, as well, with a poster presentation to display the first scientific paper after the Alex/Can-Sat project training.
