In August 2014, the European mission of Rosetta arrived to the comet Choremov – Gerasimenko and the mission began to rewrite the science of comets. Until now, this science is still mystifying astronomers with all the daily developments especially the Osiris camera which succeeded in taking photos of the comet’s surface more accurately than the pictures of Mars captured by satellites.
In this lecture by Dr. Ramy EL-Me’ary, we will highlight the most important and newest discoveries since the beginning of the mission till now; in addition to the mission’s important gaols in the previous months before the termination of the vehicle’s mission in next September.
As usual, we will try to show pictures that have not been released to public until now, such as the pictures recently captured when the vehicle was 5 km away from the comet’s surface!
