On the morning of Friday, 20 March 2015, a total solar eclipse will be visible in northern Atlantic Ocean, Europe, northern and western Africa, and northern and western Asia. The totality stage will be observable only in the northern Atlantic Ocean, the Faroe Islands and Svalbard. The maximum duration of the brief totality will be 2 minutes 47 seconds, off the coasts of the Faroe Islands.

In Egypt, this eclipse will be partial, starting at about 11:00 a.m. (EET), and ending at about 12:30 p.m. (EET). The Moon will cover up to about 20% of the Sun’s disk, in northern Egypt.

Caution: Never look at the Sun with your eyes or through optical aids. Looking at the Sun seriously damages the human eye. The Sun can be observed only with special scientific instruments providing adequate eye protection. Observe the Sun only under the supervision of astronomers.
