A Fading Star
The image shows a pale fading Sun over Alexandria's skyline.

On 3 November 2007, there were clouds of various altitudes over Alexandria, Egypt. BA Senior Astronomy Specialist Aymen Ibrahem pictured colorful views of the beautiful sunset and evening twilight of that day.
"Interestingly, the setting Sun was yellow rather than orange in color" said Ibrahem. "The color of the Sun during sunset depends on visibility. The Sun may be red, orange or yellow depending on the clouds or particles present across the western horizon."
Ibrahem took numerous photos showing the spectacular hues of the glowing clouds. He also imaged interesting close-ups of the Sun while it was fading, and disappearing in the clouds, just above the skyline. He named his series of images "A Fading Star". Some of the pictures are presented in the picture gallery below.
