24 April 2011
Spring is here and summer is on the way, the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) is ready to start its high season of activities both on and off site. On this regard, the PSC has joined the Fun Day activities at Alexandria Sporting Club held on 24 April 2011.
During this day, numerous institutions were displaying edutainment activities in a cluster of booths built in the Polo green area. The PSC booth at the event was having high traffic as it was both amusing and informative to all visitors. There were innovative hands-on activities presented through a variety of interesting workshops targeting children 4-12years old.
Also, the adults were delighted with the enthusiasm of their children acquiring new knowledge in an atmosphere full of fun and education at the same time. They also enjoyed the PSC attractive and useful newsletters distributed to attendees. The children came to the booth with curiosity to know “what’s up?” and they enjoyed what they have learnt, made and played.
This experience was not limited for children only; in this outreach parents were involved for the first time with their children during the workshop. It was another successful day for the PSC team as usual and it enhances the role of the Planetarium Science Center to promote science in an interactive way to the public.
