His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Salem bin Sultan AlQasimy, Deputy ruler of Sharjah, witnessed the closing ceremony of Intel Science Competition Arab World 2011, hosted by Sharjah university in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Intel Corporation at AlRazi Hall at the Medicine and Health Campus.

130 talented and creative Arab student participated in this competition, they presented 80 scientific projects, which are considered the best projects in the national competitions held in 10 Arab countries; United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco, Oman, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon and Jordan.


It is worth mentioning that Egypt has participated in this competition for the second time with 8 projects. This was in coordination with Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and engineering Fair which is organized by the Planetarium Science Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Intel corporation for the 5th year in a row.
Mohammed Magdy Saad and Ahmed Abdel Kareem,17 years old student, participated in the competition with their project “How Can We Make Use of the Third Worst Problem in the History of Humanity?”, Aya Magdy Alsaka, a 16 years old student, participated with “Using Chemical Reaction as a Source of Energy for the Heat Pump”, Rana Mohammed Abdel Rahman Adam, a 16 years student, participated with “The Role of Eucalyptus Oil as Anti-fungal in the Treatment of Asthma” and finally Mazen Abdel Shakour and Bahaa Salama participated with “How Can You Increase Your Health by Adjusting Your Biological Clock?”.


Also, Yomna Yasser participated with “Biofuel for the Poor”, Abdel Rahman Kareem with “Carbon Foot Print” in addition to Mohammed Alaa Aldin with “Facing a Plane Crash” and Noha Yasser and Basma Haytham with “Raising Teenagers”.


Egypt received the following prizes;

• Rana Mohammed Abdel Rahman Adam wins a 2nd place prize, which is worth AED 3,500, with her project “The Role of Eucalyptus Oil as Anti-fungal in the Treatment of Asthma” in Medicine and Health Sciences, and Cellular and Molecular Biology category.

• In the Chemistry and Biochemistry category, Aya Magdy Alsaka wins a 2nd place prize, worth AED 3,500 with her project “Using Chemical Reaction as a Source of Energy for the Heat Pump”.

• Yomna abdel Aziz wins a 2nd place prize, worth AED 3,500 in the Energy and Transportation, and Environmental Management category with her project “Fuel for the Poor”. Also in this category, Abdel Rahman Kareem wins the 3rd place prize with his project “The Carbon footprint”.

• In the Electrical Engineering and Communications category, Mohammed Magdy Alsaied and Ahmed Abdel Kareem win the 2nd place prize, worth AED 3,500 with their project “How Can We Make Use of the Third Worst Problem in the Human History?”. In addition, Mohammed Alaa Aldin Mohammed wins the 3rd place prize with his project “facing a Plane Crash”.

• The best participating project prize goes to Mazen Abdel Shakoor and Bahaa Khaleil salama, worth AED 2,000 for their project “How can You Increase Your Health by Adjusting Your Biological Clock?”.
