NASA recently published an interesting image of Enceladus, Saturn's icy, geologically-active moon. The image was acquired by the Saturn-bound Cassini spacecraft.
The image shows cratered regions in the central part and high northern latitudes of Enceladus (505 km across). Large areas of Enceladus have fewer craters and are covered by fractures and folds.
The image was taken in polarized green light with Cassini's spacecraft narrow-angle camera on 28 June 2007. The spacecraft was approximately 293,000 km from Enceladus. Image scale is 2 km per pixel.
