The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center has won three special awards in the Intel Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF 2009) that was held on 14-15 May 2009 in the USA. It has been only our second year to participate in this contest since its inception in 1950.
A third place award was given from the American Psychological Association to the contestant Gina Mamdouh Gayed, American School – Cairo, for an individual project entitled "Secret Factors Affecting the Doctor-Patient Relationship in Egyptian Governmental Hospitals".
A second place award went to the contestant Ahmed Safieldin Abou Mandoor and Ahmed Ahmed Shoib, Futures School – Cairo, from the Illinois Institute of Technology - Institute of Psychology, for a team project entitled "A Closer Look at Social Taboo: Female Genital Mutilation".
Moreover, a special award from Intel ISEF was given to Ahmed Samir, Sidi-Gaber Language School – Alexandria, for publishing a research paper in the “Young Scientist Journal” under the name "Show me Your License".
