School Year Program Schedule

The PSC is organizing a number of workshops that encourage school students groups to explore their creativity and help them find out how to use it in their life; all the while enriching their knowledge. In our workshops, students are able to interact with each other and with the world around them in an exciting and entertaining manner; they are guaranteed to have a blast! The workshops are as follow:

- Chemical Reactions
A chemical reaction is the process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another. Chemical reactions can be either spontaneous, requiring no input of energy, or non-spontaneous, typically following the input of some type of energy, such as heat, light or electricity.

All chemical reactions can be placed into one of six categories. Here they are, in no particular order, in the following list:
1) Combustion  
2) Synthesis   
3) Decomposition
4) Single displacement   
5) Double displacement
6) Acid-base

- Target Age: 4-6 years

Dancing with Colors
Colors are all around us; they make our world beautiful in many ways, and they certainly stimulate children’s imagination. In this workshop, children will learn some interesting facts about colors and discover what they can do with them.
- Target Age: Kindergarten

Five Senses
How do we identify the world? What are the five senses? And what is sensory development? In this workshop, students will be involved in activities and experiments on sensory experiences to explore the human five senses. They will be able to identify, compare, classify and investigate the world around them.

Robot
These days, many children begin to use smart phones and computers and learn to use them at a very early age; so it became necessary to teach children programming principles, and writing codes at a young age within a broader vision looking at the programming as an entrance gate to  educate the kid the way of logical and creative thinking, problem-solving skills in innovative ways, and design, through easy and popular tools which the kids will enjoy and learn at the same time.

Batteries and Electronics
In the batteries and electronics  workshop, students will learn about the types of batteries and the way they function; there is the one half-cell that includes the electrolyte and the electrode to which anions (negatively charged ions) migrate, i.e., the anode or negative electrode; the other half-cell that includes the electrolyte and the electrode to which cations (positively charged ions) migrate.
- Target Age: 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd  preparatory

Solar System
Astronomy is one of, if not the oldest sciences; it is the study of our universe, its origin and nature, celestial bodies and phenomena that originate beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. This workshop unravels fascinating facts about the Solar System and its different celestial bodies through model-making and a selection of hands-on activities.
- Target Age: 4^th, 5^th and 6^th  primary

Black Gold
Petroleum is a complex mixture of organic liquids called crude oil and natural gas, which occurs naturally in the ground and was formed millions of years ago.

This workshop is designed to introduce the student to petroleum extractions like crude oil, natural gas and others. They will learn about their characteristics, life cycle and transformations and finally their practical uses.
- Target Age: 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd  preparatory

Power of Plants
In this workshop the students will learn the following:

1- History of botany
2- Usage of plants as treatment fields
3- Identifying the different parts of the plant
- Target Age: 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd primary

Nervous System
Human beings recognize each other instantly, distinguish different forms and colors, differentiate between many different scents, and feel even a feather brushing their skin. In this workshop, students will be introduced to the central nervous system, and its role in the transmission of impulses from senses through hands-on activities.
- Target Age: 4^th, 5^th and 6^th  primary

How Heavy it is!
Each element and compound has a unique density, making it an important physical property. Understanding density helps us find the answer to many questions; such as why some objects float on water while others sink in it. The workshop introduces children to the theory of density and floating bodies through fun experiments.
