NAMES 2018 Conference

SAVE the DATE! NAMES 6th Biennial Conference and General Assembly Meeting (GAM), NAMES 2018, will take place 24-26 October 2018, back at the Library of Alexandria, Egypt, where it will be hosted by Founding Member, the Planetarium Science Center (PSC), in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of NAMES 1st conference and GAM, NAMES 2008, which was also organized at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, home of NAMES Secretariat Office.

As usual, we strive to highlight the most important astronomical phenomena and sights in our sky; we define and draw attention to them. During August, a partial lunar eclipse and a total solar eclipse will occur. The former eclipse, unlike the latter, will be visible for onlookers in Egypt.

During June, we will witness the longest daylight and the shortest night where the sky is clear with a lower rate of humidity before the beginning of Summer on the 21st of June

During the second month of Spring, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will glow in the sky and will be observable through out the month by the naked eye or through the telescope. During May, the sky becomes clear making astronomical observation easy. We only need to find a dark place away from the light pollution to see those planets.
