Einstein in Alexandria, the proceedings of the Einstein Symposium Scientific Meeting, which took place 4-6 June 2005 at the BA, has been edited by Prof. Edward Witten, the co-organizer of the event, and published by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

To celebrate the children's participation in the overall PSC summer programs, a special festivity took place on 5 September 2006. The celebration included a special Super Science Show conducted by a professional performer, Mrs. Rania Fahmy, as well as a mini-play prepared and performed entirely by the children. Certificates were awarded to children of outstanding achievement, and the PSC volunteers were honored for their efforts during the summer activities.

LAMAP training targeted primary school teachers and aimed at teaching them on how to use the Arabic mirror of La Main à la Pâte website, which comprises over 1000 informative web pages, methodological references, and class activities, thus, constituting an excellent tool to renewing science teaching in Arab countries, especially Egypt.

A hands-on exhibition owned by INFN (Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics), Microscopes of Physics will be hosted at the BA ALEXploratorium for three months starting from 6 August. The exhibition aims to explain what is known about the infinitely small and the infinitely large, using the instruments adopted by physicists to investigate the two worlds. The exhibition, organized in four showrooms, contains interactive exhibits and simulations that were particularly suitable for secondary schoolchildren, and a special area is set aside for inter-disciplinary applications of nuclear and sub-nuclear physics.

The PSC team now brings the excitement of science learning to children in their schools and sports/social clubs. The dynamic, highly motivational, shows get the participating children involved in hands-on experiments that stimulate infectious enthusiasm. The show includes experiments in the fields of Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. The specialists working with the children use a variety of materials, such as balloons, bouncing balls, balance board, baseball bats, water, and soda cans.

Want to learn more about the sky and the cosmos, rockets and telescopes, and star exploration while playing games with your peers in the open air; join the new PSC observation program. Astro-Camp is the outcome of the interest and enthusiasm of children visiting the PSC and participating in previous observations held on the BA plaza, and elsewhere. The new program incorporates a variety of fun activities, not just observation, conducted during an enjoyable excursion to an unusual location.

Mystery of the Nile, a new IMAX film now showing at the BA Planetarium, unravels the epic story of the first team to navigate the waters of the Blue Nile from source to sea.

On 20 July 2006, the BA Planetarium Science Center celebrates the Egyptian Creativity Day initiated in 2005, also by the Center in collaboration with Mr. Mohamed Shalaby who is an expert in creative thinking.

The SEED program and the PSC have joined efforts to achieve their common goal of raising scientific awareness and enhancing the understanding of science among the children and youth of Egypt by launching the "SEED corner", which was inaugurated on 24 June 2006 in the ALEXploratorium to host a series of scientific hands-on activities starting with Water Analysis and Electronics.
