Abstract:
This presents the experiences with developing a basic health information system for communities and community health associations to help them assume their new responsibilities in the management of the public health system. The package is called « Système d’Information Essentielle pour la Commune dans le secteur de la Santé » (SIEC-S). The main idea is to provide access to the health data that are collected by the Ministry of Health on a regular basis. The first experiences in the field are described and lessons are drawn.
