Abstract:
This report summarizes the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) report on the Ecuador Country Programme in 2007. It gives an overview of both the data collected and the discussions that followed in the Focus Group. The implementation of the different projects in the area of good governance started in 2006 and this is the first time that an evaluation has been carried out among final users. Projects in the area of agriculture started in 2004, and in this case, a comparative analysis was performed with the achievements attained during the previous period, taking specific aspects of each project into consideration. Generally, the impacts attained by the projects were very positive and they went beyond the results obtained in previous periods. Projects in the area of environment reached an impact of 90% concerning the increase of awareness. As for empowerment, impact reached 83% for environmental projects. A total of 91% of the users indicated that the environmental projects had a positive economic impact, a huge increase compared to the 40% of users previously. Projects dealing with environmental issues increased their organizational or sector impact from 63% the previous year to 87% at the time of evaluation. One particular project in the area of livelihood opportunities succeeded in increasing its impact in the sector from 59% to 73%.
