Abstract:
This book shows how it is possible that there is a net annual flow of billions dollars from developing countries to rich Western countries rather then in the reverse direction? A number of options to address this fundamental injustice is discussed, including: (1) promoting debt relief; (2) reforming export credit organizations; (3) preventing non-sustainable investments; (4) stopping tax evasion and stimulating development; (5) fighting corruption; (6) introducing innovative ways of development financing such as currency transaction tax; and (7) encouraging sustainable investments in companies that really contribute to development.
