ICT for education in Burkina Faso : lessons learned from the TICE-Burkina project

Abstract:
This thematic brief describes the lessons learned from one of the IICD-supported projects in the education sector. The objectives of the TICE-Burkina project are: (1) capacity building for all categories of stakeholders within secondary schools; (2) production of teaching and learning materials that are suited to the local context and follow the official programme laid down by the ministry in charge of secondary education; (3) advocacy of the use of ICT for education, addressed to decision-makers at all levels (schools, local and central government); (4) facilitation of access to ICT equipment and Internet access; and (5) use of educational technologies to teach classes.
