Abstract:
This publication sheds some light on the major themes in African football. The information is mainly based on the author’s PhD research and partly on academic literature on the subject. The publication aims to explain some of today's realities in African football. There are numerous examples in which football benefits children and adults in personal and societal respects. In order to take advantage of the potential power of football, however, it is important to understand the local context well.
