Abstract:
This policy paper aims to shed light on the topic of civic activism in the Middle East and is part of a series of policy papers from the Knowledge Programme Civil Society in West Asia, initiated by Hivos and the University of Amsterdam. These papers disseminate the key findings and conclusions of the programme and also devise policy recommendations on how international actors can support democratisation processes in the Middle East.
