This policy brief presents the manifestations, effects and suggestions for dealing with unacceptable forest practices (UFP) in Ghana. It suggests possible roles for stakeholders in combating UFP. The document is a reflection of the views of key forestry stakeholders consulted during its preparation. It targets state institutions responsible for forestry issues in Ghana such as the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Forestry Commission of Ghana, Parliamentary Select Committee for Lands and Natural Resources. Other forest stakeholder groups such as civil society may find the policy brief instructive for action.
