The Census 2000 has
boundary files and detailed demographic information of block groups,
counties, and states that can be directly imported into most GIS programs.
Researchers with access to utilization data linked to addresses or another
geographical entity (e.g., ZIP codes, counties) will be able to generate
additional GIS projects. Many medical services are limited by the locations
where they are provided, making them suitable for GIS analysis to study
access. Another application could be measuring a service’s utilization rate.
Finally, covariate adjustment and spatial statistics can offer additional
insights. |
