Integrated delivery systems (IDSs) allow the integrating of different health care providers into one organization in order to share risks, enhance the type of services offered to clients, implement cost savings, market expansion, simplification, a bigger scale of operations and provide better options to clients. It is not a merger, because they pool information technology while pursuing independent business goals.
