Ronan Lyons，英国威尔士大学医学院高级讲师，斯旺西、威尔士两市公共健康医药顾问，斯旺西市Morriston医院事故与紧急用药名誉顾问。

Ronan Lyons一直对损伤的预防保持着浓厚的兴趣，并于1993年设立了威尔士第一个人群基础上的急诊室监测系统。1998年以来，他主持着整个威尔士的伤害监测系统（AWISS），这一系统建立了全威尔士急诊室的出诊率与该地区的人口数据之间的联系。

AWISS系统被用于确定损伤事件的热点、监测其发展趋势和结果，也用于评估预防性的干预手段。

目前已开展的研究工作包括：儿童与老年人的骨折流行病学研究、在定居点老年人中试补充维生素D以预防骨折、对照组研究橄榄球运动中防护措施的有效性、严重手部损伤的群体性研究，以及参与欧洲一个评估损伤医疗费用的项目。

Ronan Lyons也是威尔士儿童安全协会的理事，这一慈善团体是为减少儿童中的损伤事件而建立的。他还是国际少年儿童损伤预防协会（ISCAIP）的成员之一。
