It is important to have a standard approach to
conducting hazard analyses.
Although the approach can be improved, if you constantly employ
different methods in each analysis you conduct, it will be very
difficult to compare results over time and to identify trends.
The model for this presentation is a simple one:
[1] identify
possible hazards
[2] characterize
each hazard (in other words define its parameters)
[3] apply a
rating or assessment scheme to arrive as a basis for comparison with
other hazards
[4] communicate
the results
