Public Health
practitioners should be expert gatherers, brokers and users of Information. The should know the key sources and how to access them e.g. The Census,Cancer registries, Hospital Activity Analysis,Cochrane database,WHO etc. They should have the expertise to conduct a literature search. They should know the strength and weaknesses of the Information presented and therefore of its reliability. Frequently the task of Public Health will be to commission or perform research to assist the process. |
