Research
on the perceptual system has been intense since the turn of the 20th Century, yet we still
have only a partial understanding of its complexities. The lecture first describes the
features of perception, differentiating perception from sensation and outlining the main
characteristics of perceptual function. The above
features are considered. We then think about the range of circumstances perception is
relevant in health care and why a working knowledge of the character of perception is
advantageous to you as doctors. |
