While mortality
measures provide an indirect means to assess a community’s health,
underlying causes of death are necessarily useful in capturing the many
diseases and illnesses that exist within any given community.
Thus, morbidity measures are useful for program planning and evaluation. Unfortunately, morbidity is not recorded as precisely as mortality, and therefore difficult to analyze. |
