Corticosteroids
have been used with no convincing results
Topical nitroglycerin cream may provide temporary, safe and effective relief from pain (14). Topical lidocaine has shown promising results in some women, as it helps to break the nociceptor input to the CNS (15). Capsaicin cream, an immune response modifier imiquimod, is being tried, but efficacy data do not exist (16).
