Many type 2 diabetic patients require more than one drug for good blood pressure control. Hypertension is more prevalent by 1.5 to 3 times in diabetic patients. Type 2 diabetics may have hypertension before the development of diabetes, or may develop it during the course of the disease till the development of nephropathy.
