Why is a such difference between pharmaceutical companies responses to insulin treated patients and patients with HIV or AIDS? The lobby of groups with HIV is very powerful. Clearly AIDS is much more major health care and public health problem than Type 1 diabetes. But reduction for insulin prices will not much reflect the total profit of pharmaceutical companies! International community of diabetes health care workers weak because of several reasons, as growing relationship between pharmaceutical industry and the professionals, and because many major diabetes meetings are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. We see some lost of freedom to criticize of diabetes organizations sponsored by industry.
