antogonists. They alter the inflammatory response to the virus and subvert the important
Th1 response by a variety of mechanisms. 2) Certain inbred mice or chickens animals resist herpesviruses and this is now linked to the efficacy of their natural killing cell response to the virus-infected cells. 3) The search for agents to combat herpes keratitis of man and these now include oculotopical cytokines which augment Th1 responses and oculotopical drugs eg acyclovir (which will block herpes-DNA-polymerase once phosphorylated by the herpes tk enzyme). |
