This book is the first general foundational reference containing the writings and inscriptions of “Al- Kasr” town. It also documents the history of this important area and highlights the importance of using the Arabic calligraphy character, especially after the extinction of a number of inscriptions located on private houses’ lintels.

The book focuses on the biography of the Arabic calligrapher Sayed Ibrahim and the main phases of his life, in addition to a complete catalogue for his masterpieces. The book refers also to his work in the Faculty of Dar Al- Oloum, the American University Cairo and in Arabian Manuscripts Institute.

 The book contains seven revised and edited research papers presented at the Fourth International Symposium of History of Printing and Publishing in the Language and Countries of the Middle East. The essays aim to significantly enhance our knowledge and understanding of how and why the development of printing, both affected and affected by, historical, social and intellectual currents in the areas considered.

 The phenomena of sending messages to the dead in ancient Egypt is one of the most amazing phenomena that still continues till nowadays; which is the phenomena of sending messages to Imam Shafi'i and the different saints. The book deals with the interpretation, translation and analysis of many texts of these ancient and modern speeches, by comparing messages sent to the dead in ancient and modern times.

 The importance of the book is that it is a documentary of all types of Mamluk inscriptions, whether foundation, renewal, propaganda or religious inscriptions on archaeological buildings in Syria. Some of these texts are published for the first time, while a number of them were destroyed in the war.
