Water-Food-Energy (WEF) Nexus: The New Research Frontier in Egypt International Conference
Within the framework of the Knowledge-Triangle Platform for the Water-Energy-Food Nexus (TriNex) Project, TriNex International Conference was held on Wednesday, 8th of February 2017 at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt.

The theme of the conference was "Water-Food-Energy (WEF) Nexus: The New Research Frontier in Egypt" where it explored the notion behind the inter-relation between Water, Food and Energy and the current challenges that face Egypt in these area. The conference aims to introduce WEF Nexus as a key tool to meet Egypt Sustainable Development Strategy 2030.

The conference was organized by the American University in Cairo (AUC) and Heliopolis University within the framework of the Knowledge-Triangle Platform for the Water-Energy-Food Nexus (TriNex) Project (EU TEMPUS).

The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) who hosted the conference at Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a partner among the project nine partners; Politecnico di Milano (Italy), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), Montpellier SupAgro (France), TU Graz (Austria), Alexandria University (Egypt), Cairo University (Egypt), Heliopolis University (Egypt), The American University in Cairo (Egypt).

The TriNex International Conference was a meeting point for researchers from Egypt and Europe in many different displaces who came together to enable Egypt to achieve water, energy and food security.
