The Center organized a seminar entitled “Islamic Cairo in the Photographic Archive: Between Cairo and London”, delivered by Dr. Omneya Abdel Bar and Ms. Ella Ravilious, on Wednesday, 19 February 2020, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Main Entrance, Auditorium Hall.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Omneya Abdel Bar, Researcher at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, who discussed the photo archive of Professor Creswell, one of the pioneering researchers in Islamic architecture.
The seminar was also delivered by Ms. Ella Ravilious, Researcher and Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, who explored the history of Cairo in the photographic archive of the Victoria and Albert Museum; a source that is highly valuable in the study of the civilization and archaeology of Islamic Egypt.
