February Astronomy Night

In February’s astronomy night, the chemist, astronomer, and philosophical thinker Dr. Shady Abdel Hafez will be the guest at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center. He is fond of astronomy and adores monitoring the sky. Dr. Shady Abdel Hafez will hold a lecture in which he will discuss the following points:

Even though astronomers and astronomy amateurs declared that the year 2017 is relatively poor in terms of the number of phenomena that could be monitored. But there are some important phenomena that could be monitored in the sky of Alexandria.


FameLab Competition

Mid-year Program:Face your Fears

The Planetarium Science Center is organizing the Mid-year Program for students of ages 4-22 years old, during the period 29 January to 9 February 2017. For the first time, this Mid-year program includes a special program for the target age group 16-22 years old, which is Face Your Fears program.


January Astronomy Night: Space Technology

For the second time, we are honored to host Engineer Akram Amin at the Planetarium Science Center, in cooperation with the Egyptian Association of Astronomy. He will hold a lecture to talk about what is new in space technology. He will also be speaking about the latest missions to space; where did they go and why, in addition to their discoveries. Engineer Akram Amin will also talk about the new organization which aims at helping those who are interested in astronomy to start their career in the field of aviation.

Science Film Festival Tour

The Science Film Festival is now having a tour in a number of Egyptian governorate: Tanta, Cairo, Sohag and El Wadi El Gedid. The students will enjoy watching the scientific movies followed by a hands-on workshop -held by the team of the PSC- explaining the topic of the movie they watched.
