Ms Haleema   Saeed

Biography:

Ms. Haleema Husam Saeed/Salah is the Director General of International Relations Directorate at the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS). She is a member of various professional bodies and the Head of several internal technical committees in different fields including expenditure and consumption survey, structural agricultural survey, population housing and establishment census 2017, among others.  She also serves as National Principal Coordinator for the regional project (MEDSTAT), and acts as Food Security Project Manager and National Coordinator for the Food Security project in Palestine.  She holds a Master Degree on Agriculture Engineering/Nematology from Jordan University.

"Innovation in Data Use and Dissemination of Microdata: The Palestinian Experience"

Official Statistics are statistics published by government agencies or other public bodies such as international organizations as a public good. They provide information on all major areas of citizens' lives, such as economic and social development, living conditions, health, education, and the environment.

The presentation will focus on PCBS most recent experience in innovations in data use and data dissemination to enhance the accessibility and the usage of the evidence based statistics in decision making.  The paper will assess Palestinian experiences in terms of challenges and obstacles, recommendations and lessons learned from making the Microdata and the Public Use file and Geo-database accessible to users.
