Abstract:
The aim of this study is to provide a reference document for all actors involved in the production chain of biodiesel in El Salvador. It covers the following subjects: (1) the history of the chain including the milestones that mark its develoment; (2) analisis of the elements in the environment that have affected chain development, both in a negative and positive sense; (3) identification of the actors that were envolved at each link in the value chain; (4) the relationships between actors; (5) market conditions, demand análisis, product requirements, and historical evolution; and (6) chain profitability.
