Abstract:
This is the doctoral thesis of Rens Willems on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) and a Community-based Approach. The research starts with examining the best practices and lessons learned of past DDR experiences. Then focus will be on community based DDR. How community-based DDR could be undertaken is illustrated with a case-study of Jonglei State, South Sudan.
