Abstract:
This report presents an innovative approach aimed at scaling up HIV/AIDS awareness via mobile phone SMS desired at encouraging participants to access HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT). This study reached over 7,000 people in the Lira district, Uganda, for HIV/AIDS education via SMS, the outcome of which saw a high acceptance rate of the SMS survey and increase in the number of people accessing HCT.
