Abstract:
In September 2011 demonstrators occupied Wall Street in New York. Inspired by the Arab Spring and the Spanish 15 May movement they protested against economic inequality and greed in the financial sector. In October 2011, Occupy protests also arose in various countries over the world. This factsheet gives a short overview of history and background of the occupy movement.
