“Women Building Arab Communities”

In the light of the world’s celebration of the International Women Day, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s permanent care to the Egyptian and Arab women’s issues, the Women and Social Transformation Studies program (WSST) organizes the High-level Regional Experts Meeting entitled “Women Building Arab Communities” where a number of Egyptian and Arab experts will attend.

This meeting will shed light on the various contexts surrounding the status of women in Arab countries and the changes, and the initiatives and laws required to make the woman a cornerstone of suitable development in their society. The meeting will discuss that through the following pillars:

  • Pillar One: Cultural and Social Norms for the woman’s status in the Arab World.
  • Pillar Two: Legal and Legislative Norms for the woman in the Arab World.
  • Pillar Three: The Political Norms for the woman in the Arab World.
  • Pillar Four: The Economic Norms for the woman in the Arab World.
