Dr. Walid El-Dash
Dr. EL-dash is working in Heliopolis university as a teacher in faculty of engineering, researcher and coordinators for SuRMap project for development upper graduate curriculum with many universities inside and outside Egypt, also assist in DeVilag project for development under graduate curriculum.
Dr. El-Dash obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1988 from the Faculty of Engineering - Cairo University- Fayoum branch. He received a Master of Science Degree in GIS public works survey engineering in 2006 from Cairo University. In 2013, Dr. El-Dash obtained his PhD from the Department of public works survey engineering at Cairo University in implementing satellite altimetry data for the determination of river Nile dynamic chart datum for safety navigation and computation of water storage in great lakes with GIS application. Dr. El-dash has been working for the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) since 1990. He is currently Researcher and teacher in Heliopolis university, he was a head of technical support of Asir municipality (Amana), teacher in Engineering college Nahda university also He was previously the general manager of the planning and investment in Fayoum MWRI, director of the Lake Nasser Nubia Management framework project, World Bank from 2012 until 2014, task team leader from 2009 to 2012, General Manager of Technical Office Nile water sector until May 2014 hydrographic survey project, General Director of bilateral cooperation Nile basin countries at Nile water sector from 2013 until 2014, Acting Director of the Office National Nile Basin Initiative from 2011 to 2013, deputy director of the National Office Nile Basin Initiative from 20410 to 2011, director of the GIS unit Nile water sector from 2006 to 2009, The director of the GIS unit of the Nile water sector 2006 to 2009, and director of the GIS in Fayoum From 2003 until 2006, and the owner and director of the EL-Fardous computer and information systems counter part of Dutch project survey, field monitoring, assistant directors of works and director of works Fayoum Irrigation department and the representative of the ministry of many Conference and meetings at Nile Basin countries, an official representative of Nile water sector at Applied training project Nile Basin Initiative until the end. He is member of Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
Dr. El-Dash fields of research and consultations include areas of studies and training shower using geographic information systems in project management & public works & use satellite imagery altimetry system to fulfill gaps in monitoring Rivers, construction works & analysis of water level data for the Rivers, also used in many applications in Trans-boundary water resources management such as water discharge, controlling disaster and Hydrographic survey, Develop a new rigorous vertical datum and a realistic modeling Dynamic River Chart Datum. , updated maps of canals, drains, constructions, and administration for Irrigation in Fayoum - Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, management hydrographic missions in Lake Nasser through LNNMP World Bank, Dr EL-Dash work as teacher and consultant in several training programs such as the training program for the food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Jordan , and the regional training center of the Ministry of irrigation and Water Resources (UNESCO), UNDP, Namaa consultant, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Baraka office, teaching at the Higher Institute of survey from 2006 to 2011.
Dr. El-Dash Participates in many project preparation, committee of the prequalification, short listing, for consultants in world bank LNNMF project and construction projects for ministry of water resources and irrigation through Dutch project;
Setting, review and approval the terms of reference for governmental and WB also member of committee to select and evaluate companies, consultants according to governmental and WB rules for many Project (Framework studies, environmental, irrigation and drainage, construction) including also evaluation of technical and financial proposals with the different criteria.
