Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina in collaboration with the British Council is organizing a 3 day conference on Darwin to celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Darwin’s birth and 150 years since the first appearance of "The Origin of Species".
The Darwin Now conference, entitled "Darwin’s Living Legacy", will provide the ideal occasion to mark the second of these significant scientific anniversaries.
The conference will take place 14-16 November 2009 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center.

TWOWS Postgraduate Training Fellowships for Women Scientists
The Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS) is happy to announce the call for applications for the 2009 TWOWS Postgraduate Fellowship.
The fellowship supports research projects in the following basic natural sciences: chemistry, mathematics, physics and basic biology. The minimum qualification of applicants is an MSc degree (or equivalent) or an outstanding BSc honours degree in a field of the natural sciences.
Both part-time and full-time fellowships are available.
