Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

Health Education Club (HEC)

Health Education Club (HEC)

As a continuation of its role in improving the Scientific Education and Health HECAwareness, the CSSP supports the Egyptian community by bringing Health issues to the foreground throughout the public community and beyond.

Heath Education Club aims to identify, educate and provide the public community with the opportunity to learn, practice and share the attributes of a healthy lifestyle through regular educational sessions dealing with  different health topics.

Breast Cancer Awareness Program

In collaboration with AIESEC, the HEC will inaugurate its activities by organizing the Breast Cancer Awareness Program. A series of lectures will be held every Wednesday during the month of August, in the Small Theater at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center. The lectures aim to raise awareness of breast cancer and reduce the disease's stigma by educating people about its symptoms and treatment options.

Seats are limited and Attendance is by registration.

What is TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT?

 What is TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT?

TWAS/BVA.NXT 2012 will be the Third BioVisionAlexandira.NXT to be organized in Alexandria. The Event will be held under the theme Scientific Innovation in the Developing World: From Theory to Practice. TWAS/BVA.NXT 2012 intends to explore scientific innovation in the developing world, and highlight its importance for sustainable development. 

The Event will be held 20-21 April 2012, and the TWAS/BVA.NXT 2012 participants will be offered the opportunity to meet other young scientists and professionals in the field of innovation from different parts of the world. 
 
Priority will be given to the best innovative research, and to research papers that meet the needs of the society.

Research Industry Day: From Lab to Reality

 Research Industry Day: From Lab to Reality

The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in cooperation with the AcademPostery of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), continued its support towards young researchers by organizing Research Industry Day: From Lab to Reality Seminar on Thursday 28 July 2011.

The Seminar covered many topics such as problems facing young researchers in introducing their research to industry, importance of the great role of small and medium enterprises in the industrialization of scientific research, innovation patency and investment in scientific research.

Science Supercourse

Science Supercourse

Science Supercourse is a project jointly coordinated by Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library ofSSC Website Alexandria, and Ronald Laporte, Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Disease Monitoring and Telecommunications at the University of Pittsburgh.

This effort was designed to improve information sharing among professionals and educators in four major fields of science: public health, agriculture, computer engineering, and environment. Lectures are shared in PowerPoint format to empower educators around the world.

 Get Involved!

The SSC is based on involving the community and encouraging professors and experts to participate by adding their own lectures to the website for the benefit of students and teachers everywhere.

 If you are a Professor of Agriculture, Computer Engineering, Health or Environmental Health, be part of the SSC and upload your lectures.
