Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World’s - Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) is planning to hold its 7th Annual Meeting, 28-29 December 2011, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Meeting will be preceded by a seminar that intends to bring together leading experts to discuss challenges and opportunities of water, nuclear and renewable energy in the Arab region.

The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World’s Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) will continue its support for young Arab researchers by holding a poster session for young Arab researchers, to showcase their researches. TWAS-ARO will sponsor 10 outstanding young researchers, from different Arab countries, to present their project/research on water, nuclear and renewable energy.

Because of the growing demand around the world from the public sector, business and civil society for greater competence and professionalism in building and maintaining non-traditional forms of collaboration, the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) in collaboration with the CSSP is organizing the Training Workshop entitled: Essential Skills for Brokering Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

This training will provide the practical skills, knowledge and insight for managing the partnering process from the earliest "scoping" stage to the final "moving on" phase, including the delivery of measurable benefits to all partners.

Science Supercourse

Science Supercourse

Science Supercourse is a project jointly coordinated by Ismail SeSSC Websiterageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Ronald Laporte, Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Disease Monitoring and Telecommunications at the University of Pittsburgh.

This effort was designed to improve information sharing among professionals and educators in four major fields of science: public health, agriculture, computer engineering, and environment. Lectures are shared in PowerPoint format to empower educators around the world.

The SSC is based on involving the community and encouraging professors and experts to participate by adding their own lectures to the website for the benefit of students and teachers everywhere.

 If you are a Professor of Agriculture, Computer Engineering, Health or Environmental Health, be part of the SSC and upload your lectures.
