Water, Nuclear and Renewable Energy: Challenges Versus Opportunities

The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World’s - Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) is planning to hold its 7^th Annual Meeting, 28-29 December 2011, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Meeting will be preceded by a seminar that intends to bring together leading experts to discuss challenges and opportunities of water, nuclear and renewable energy in the Arab region.

As scientific research is an important tool for social development and economic progress of any country, the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World’s Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) will continue its support for young Arab researchers by holding a poster session for young Arab researchers, to showcase their researches. TWAS-ARO will sponsor 10 outstanding young researchers, from different Arab countries, to present their project/research on water, nuclear and renewable energy.

Poster Session

We cordially invite you to submit an abstract for presentation during the Poster Session that will be held during TWAS-ARO 7^th Annual Meeting, 28-29 December 2011, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. During the Event, young researchers will be offered the opportunity to meet other young scientists, from different Arab countries, allowing them to share their views and benefit from informal discussions with other conference participants. They will also meet renowned scientists and hear success stories from those who have managed to combat difficulties.

 Your poster should address subjects related to water or energy.

Application Criteria
The applicant should be:
1. A young researcher, under the age of 40 years
2. An Arab national citizen and resident of a developing country
3. MSc or PhD student or post-doctoral researcher, working in the field of water or energy.

The participants’ applications will be assessed by the Review Committee, and the best 10 posters will be displayed throughout the Meeting. TWAS-ARO will cover the registration fees, travel expenses and accommodation costs of the selected best 10 researchers by the Review Committee.

The deadline for abstract submission is 20 October 2011.
