The Exhibition is part of a series of cultural exchanges between Shanghai and Alexandria. It showcases the intangible cultural heritage in Shanghai. The theme of the exhibition is “Culture across Ancient and Modern”. The Organizing Committee has therefore selected a number of works of art or craftsmanship representing the various stakeholders involved in the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Shanghai. With more than 130 exhibits, the Exhibition includes drawings by peasants from Shanghai's Jinxian County, the Shanghai-style Kashmiri embroidery, silk weaving, Chinese wool clothing, jade carving, bamboo carving from the Jiading District, as well as gold and silver crafts, among others.
